July 31, 2009 15:36: Could be that a Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ in Thailand (long-time IBM mid-range site) inquiry > "core banking GSB sanchez" > pointed them to Fidelity for Profile, then sees them checking about Fiserv Signature (ICBS) on iSeries

July 31, 2009 12:19:
Du jour | from Japan: "Flexcube and Finacle comparison" | from India: "Temenos T24 vs Oracle Flexcube"

Pointing out the update posted today to the ERI Bancaire summary page based on the vendor's revised description of the Olympic core banking system product.

July 24, 2009 10:36: Thailand's Government Housing Bank investigation into a THB 499-million embezzlement - Understand now the investigation at the GH Bank in Thailand found that they failed to secure access to bank's primary internal accounts when they implemented the new Finacle core banking system, and the investigating committee determined certain staff were culpable. They say that is was clear the bank's computer system was manipulated to gain direct access to key bank accounts and commit the fraud | also see earlier July 20 and July 3 entries below >> look for the later August 4 posting and follow-up

July 23, 2009 11:16: Prediction | The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ in Thailand (long-time AS/400 site) interested in Silverlake SiBS in preference to Open Solutions DNA TCBS

July 22, 2009 12:06: Random indications | CUSCAL Sydney > "core banking systems" > Core Banking Systems A to Z list of over 100 vendors of interest | Standard Bank Dhaka > asking "how Core Banking software can mitigate Financial Risk" | click to Share FRESH on Twitter

July 22, 2009 08:15:
See announced that Metavante and Temenos have agreed settlement terms. As part of the termination agreement, Metavante received a license to continue its use of the Customer Information Management functionality of TEMENOS Core Banking for the development of next-generation core technology (was that the 'good bit'?). Temenos continues to retain all rights in the development and investment done in TCB to date as a result of the agreement | Not sure we believe that Metavante and Temenos will jointly pursue TEMENOS T24 deals in the U.S. market on a non-exclusive basis... particularly if the much-touted Fidelity takeover of Metavante that created this issue plays out.

July 21, 2009 15:13: Insights perhaps | Bay Federal Credit Union, Capitola > looking at "Fidelity banking software" | CIBC Caribbean newly looking at Oracle Flexcube (after ICBS Fiserv) | Bank of Georgia in the country of Georgia is paying attention to core banking systems | ANZ Banking Group (New Zealand) > "systematics banking" > core banking system vendors A to Z > Fidelity | BankWest Australia (now CBA group) > "SAP banking on iSeries" > SAP | NAB > "best core banking software" > core banking iRanking

July 20, 2009 08:10:
Thailand's Government Housing Bank investigation into a THB 499-million embezzlement - more reports today about how the GH Bank in Thailand (Government Housing Bank) failed to include risk/security management protection on access to bank's primary internal accounts when they implemented the new Finacle core banking system, installed by local SI's Datamat/Superblock with the core banking software vendor, Infosys, as subcontractor - and this failure facilitated the fraud that occurred | seems the focus is shifting away from "blaming the system" to pointing more at the bank for not implementing the right security protection and risk controls internally | also see earlier July 3 posting below >> and see later July 24 posting above, and subsequent related entries

July 19, 2009 09:18: Core banking system comparison du jour | for Nigeria > Temenos T24 vs Finacle

July 14, 2009 13:26: A trend | inquiries for "FiRE regulatory reporting" landing on our Regulatory, Statutory, Compliance Reporting page and linking out to FRSglobal

July 3, 2009 17:31:
Thailand's Government Housing Bank investigation into a THB 499-million embezzlement - local press reports today refer to officials blaming the Infosys Finacle core banking system that went live in 2007 as a cause of losses otherwise reported as due to embezzlement at GH Bank of Thailand. Local implementation partner firms Datamat and Superblock also get a mention. Oh well. No doubt there is more to this story. >> see later July 20 posting above, and subsequent postings

July 3, 2009 13:30:
random tracking data items: Macquarie Bank, Sydney Australia & Singapore > Odyssey, core banking private, by country | Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Sydney > "b@ncs24" > core banking atoz, TCS FS (FNS) | IBM China > "FNS T24 CSC" > TCS FS TCS BaNCS (FNS), Temenos T24, CSC Hogan | Westpac Banking Corporation > "ranking of core banking system" > core banking iRanking | Jersey > "oracle flexcube vs t24" > fresh_084 | + indications are that Barclays UK might be tending towards some decision on Oracle Flexcube core banking

July 3, 2009 10:30: Temenos may well refer to what was eMerge now as "T24 MCB" or "T24 for Microfinance and Cooperative Banking", but we still see plenty of inquiries like today from Ghana for "globus emerge" that need our sort of cross-reference.

July 2, 2009 20:36:
Points of interest and contention, perhaps, showing up in search terms today | from Singapore > DBS core banking > Infosys (Finacle with Accenture 'on hold' at best) | Singapore > Maybank core banking software > Silverlake (up for replacement).

July 1, 2009 20:47: Seriously trending this week are terms like | "core banking vendor comparison", "list of core banking system vendors", "banking core vendor" and "core banking vendor ranking"

July 1, 2009 20:40:
A prominent Indonesian bank > "core banking system problem in DBS" > Fresh (not the only inquirer on the DBS, Infosys Finacle, Accenture topic)

July 1, 2009 10:22:
When the people at Infosys in Hyderabad asked about a "list of competitors for Finacle" online, we had it ready for them in spades> core banking system vendors iRanking, A to Z, by Country, core banking Islamic Banking products category , core banking Cooperatives and Microfinance product category.

July 1, 2009 09:49:
At last see it is announced that National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) chose Oracle Flexcube as core banking platform.

July 1, 2009 09:49: Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania > "Finacle 10 vs Flexcube 10" > Fresh archive (fresh_084)

June 30, 2009 23:30: iRanking posted for June 2009 | remember "it's only an indicator" | Temenos is back at #1 in the core banking system 'vendors of interest' tracking, just ahead of Oracle FSS and Infosys | Jack Henry Banking (#18) and Top Systems Topaz (#26) were notably active and reached their highest places in the iRank table.

June 29, 2009 20:00: A heavy traffic day for both core banking system vendors, and banks looking for core banking solutions...

June 27, 2009 10:21: Trending questions about US banking "Regulatory reporting" solutions are finding answers on statutory reporting, regulatory reporting, compliance systems page

June 27, 2009 10:09: BPPR may be looking at core banking solutions in or for Colombia > like Bankvision, Top Systems

June 27, 2009 09:55:
Wondering a little why the Florida state government (DMS) might be interested in SlaterLabs?

June 26, 2009 23:10: Many said NAB would always have been smart to pull back on the $1Bn core systems renewal claims: it seems NAB is now saying they have committed "only" $30M, including for a trial of Oracle Flexcube, so far. Better?

Ju
ne 25, 2009 19:56: A couple or 3 hints to trends from inquiries today | from Australia > "csc hogan" | from Auckland, New Zealand > "systematics banking programme", "fidelity", "ntbs" | big today from the Americas > "fisa ecuador" > Fisa | from Tennessee > "fiserv vs temenos" (assume Signature vs T24, and Fiserv wins in US market)

June 24, 2009 14:35: Thanks for the referral link for 'inntron core banking system software information resources' running on Asymptotix

June 24, 2009 11:06: There is a case study that is offered as a consulting service product to our clients and prospective clients| ref. BankThai, Thailand (now taken over and renamed as CIMB Thailand) | selected extracts follow | ...our company was engaged only after the fact of them selecting either Globus/T24 or TCB from Temenos, separately, at different times. First in 2002, on the vendor's side after Temenos people had been onsite for 6 months and were heavily bogged down in a 'design phase' based on Globus/T24... Then later in 2005, after Temenos and BankThai had switched onto, and were 6 months into, an ill-conceived and poorly organized Temenos CoreBanking project... They must have received terrible core banking systems consulting and guidance up front in each case... It was easy to see the big problems, like no signed-off requirements or agreed scope ahead of time... From 2002 to 2005, anyone could tell there was a gap in expectations that you could drive a truck through... We could imagine, and understand, that the bank really did not need to spend on big, new core banking technology. Rather they could have been building on, and making better use of, the IT systems they had in place already to the benefit of their business. We have no doubt we gave the right advice most times, including encouraging the bank in 2005 to look elsewhere for a more suitable, locally proven, and localized Thai solution (like Fidelity Systematics as implemented in SCB etc.), instead of trying to implement the (then) immature and poorly controlled and packaged Temenos CoreBanking software. Sadly they were a case where the attitudes and arrogance of vested interests on both sides combined.

June 23, 2009 10:35: Today from Sao Paolo, Brazil > search for comparative points on "flexcube, t24, sap, cobis" | core banking A to Z (could almost predict a Cobiscorp win)

June 23, 2009 10:34:
Our USA inquiries are often for "bank core systems" or "bank core software", while the rest of the world mostly sticks to "core banking systems"

June 22, 2009 16:26: Since we were just asked again, the runaway most popular landing page is the 1st page of the inntron ranking ordered pages > our Core Banking iRanking | aka the Top 40 list of popular and active core banking system vendors overall | presented in a different sequence than that of the A to Z Alphabetical and By Country | remember "it's only an indicator"

June 20, 2009 13:52: Today from Buenos Aires, Argentina | interest & lookups > "sap banking, bantotal, core bancario" > core banking A to Z | "fidelity core bancario" > FIS

June 19, 2009 13:45: Reminder re the internet and eBanking software page | there is a trend with requests to list, and increasing visitor traffic | new 'free listing' entry posted today for Q2 Software (USA) multi-channel electronic banking software on MS platform | last week for SolutionNET, or was it Infocorp (Uruguay)?

June 18, 2009 19:00: Fielding a question about "performance issues in TCS Bancs" from NY investment bank > we point them to TCS FS and pass on a technical comment that BaNCS "really hums" per a senior technical associate familiar with the platform | from KL > "compare iflex and t24" > we have that "Flexcube vs T24" comparison down pat.

June 18, 2009 11:01:
Seeing new indications that fall-out continues over the troubled DBS Singapore (Development Bank of Singapore) core banking systems saga and relationship where Infosys sold the Finacle core banking product and Accenture was essentially tapped to deliver.

June 17, 2009 19:09: Seeing a trend today on "regulatory reporting", and "statutory reporting", mostly based on inquiries from the USA, and banks generally are recorded looking up reporting with risk-related solutions more often | good news for the vendors listed on our statutory reporting, regulatory reporting, compliance systems page

June 16, 2009 09:58: more overnight global tracking data (samples) | Mumbai India > "Trace: Anti Money Laundering, Montevideo" > Top Systems Topaz Trace AML | Georgetown, Guyana > "Canopus Software banking" > Canopus Macrobank4 | Santiago, Chile > "e-IBS Datapro" > Datapro Miami | Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust > "IBM IFW + standing order" > Temenos TCB | BBVA Suiza (Banco Exterior), Switzerland > "core banking software ranking" > core banking ranking, Oracle Flexcube | Bangkok, Thailand > "core banking system" > core banking system vendors A to Z list | Bahrain > Islamic banking comparison request "ITS iMal Microlink Equation" > core banking Islamic, ranking | First Manhattan Consulting Group, New York > core banking system, temenos" > core banking ranking | Hanoi, Vietnam > "flexcube vs temenos" > Fresh_084 (archived page, common compare) | Bangkok Thailand (non-commercial bank) > "temenos core banking + Thailand project" > | Kuala Lumpur Malaysia > "government housing bank thailand infosys" > infosys | Bahrain > "core banking system cheap" > core banking ranking (a sign of the times)

June 16, 2009 07:00: The "Top 15" core banking system top vendors by iRank list - incorporating the Top 5 and Top Ten (Top 10) and showing historic rankings back to 2004 - was updated as at 15/6/2009 to reflect current interest & activity this month | indications are that Neptune Software is on the move and reached their highest position ever in our iRankings at #14 | the top 3 remain unchanged, though Temenos (#2) activity is up and the numbers are closing between them and Oracle (#1) | while the gap down to Infosys (#3) is widening.

June 15, 2009 09:31: The odd interesting inquiry this morning: from Perth Western Australia > "private bank software" > core banking private | Baton Rouge, Louisiana > "microfinance banking software" > core banking microfinance / cooperative | Mount Waverley, Victoria > "finacle anz singapore" > Infosys

June 14, 2009 19:15:
A core banking application comparison request in from Nairobi, Kenya for "Temenos T24 vs Infosys Finacle"

June 13, 2009 19:27: Favourite, and honest, inquiry today was "want cheap core banking software" from Kabul, Afghanistan

June 12, 2009 10:59: A random sampling of inquiries overnight | from Chertanovo, Smolensk, Russian Federation > "TCS B@NCS" > TCS BaNCS | Saint John's, Newfoundland, Canada > "jack henry 2020 versus silverlake" > Jack Henry | Unicredito Italiano Spa > "commercial banking core system UBS" > core banking A to Z (all) | Ethiopia > "delta banking software" > Delta Informatique | Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands > "US vendors for banking software" > core banking By Country (USA) > Harland Financial > "unisys urbis core banking" > Unisys > "FIS Alltel systematics" > Fidelity | Durant, Oklahoma, United States > "core banking system comparison" > core banking iRanking | Vientiane, Lao People's Democratic Republic > "core banking software vendors" > core banking A to Z, iRanking | interesting

June 11, 2009 20:06: Spotted this inquiry from the UK > "RSI company Temenos Spain" > Temenos | a reminder that TEMENOS acquired a set of RSI software in about 2002 that formed the basis of what is today known as TEMENOS CoreBanking (TCB). The original IRIS software was designed and developed as an FSDM model-based architecture for a processing engine by IBM and RSI in Spain to meet the demands of 71 separate rural savings banks run on outsourced processing in a single data center (multi-bank, retail bank system) by Rural Servicios Informáticos (RSI). We hear the native RSI software continues in development mostly unrelated to TCB today.

June 11, 2009 10:33: Also in the 'always interesting' category | don't get why someone from the Healthcare Commission in London looked up all core banking system vendors listed over about 8 hours | and sort of get why a law firm in Milwaukee is inquiring and looking up everything about Metavante and Temenos.

June 11, 2009 10:19: Here is a sampling of inquiries overnight from Central & South America, & the Caribbean | from Jamaica > "topaz aml" > Top Systems Uruguay | Honduras > "que es IBS Branch" > Datapro Miami | Bermuda > "datapro treasury" > Datapro | Peru > "topaz uruguay" > Top Systems | Brazil > "datapro e-ibs" > Datapro | Ecuador > "fisa banking" > FISA Ecuador | Mexico > "icbs core banking" > Fiserv | Chile > "neptune core banking" > Neptune Software | always interesting

June 9, 2009 19:58: A first-time system comparison request for us today | a leading Washington area bank is comparing "fidelity corebank vs systematics".

June 5, 2009 17:50: It seems that the 2nd time round, in core banking systems replacement cycles, institutions always ask more questions, and talk more about: core banking solutions disadvantages | total cost of ownership (TCO) | annual maintenance charges | scope creep: post-licensing identification of 'must-have' gaps that become change requests | risks in implementations (incl. out of control development, delays, coping with change management, and pressure to convert) | core banking software drawbacks (incl. less-flexible and functional core modules vs best-of-breed niche applications) | the importance of precise requirements definition and aligned expectation, etc.

June 5, 2009 15:07: DBS is a bit of a trend today as noted in keyword analysis | search terms included "finacle implementation DBS" (not exactly Infosys' favorite topic lately, we hear) , "private banking system DBS" (finding Avaloq) plus, within inntron pages, searches for all results including "DBS" and "DBS Bank"

June 3, 2009 12:00: Fresh jottings | PWC in Beijing may have a brief to find and gather information on private banking systems | someone in Bhutan looking for 'core banking software' linked out to Oracle Flexcube | Phoenix core banking software is of interest in Melbourne Australia today | a Djibouti 'islamic banking systems' inquirer landed on the inntron islamic core banking product category page | someone in OCBC in Singapore is looking at the Murex Treasury risk system

June 2, 2009 18:57: Noted from Mumbai a common comparison du jour request for "finacle vs flexcube" | and from Singapore, multiple "core banking vendors" inquiries today, including from Oracle FSS and DBS | and like the majority of visitors landing on the busiest entry page by far: Core Banking System Vendors listed in our iRanking Order

June 2, 2009 13:05: Another thorough visitor | an identified NY-based investment bank overnight searched the web for "alltel core banking", landed on our A to Z list of vendors first, linked to Fidelity, then spent hours looking at all 100 core banking system vendor summary pages.

June 1, 2009 00:08: Follow inntron on Twitter | twitter.com/inntron (different postings and some interaction)

June 1, 2009 00:04: A reminder that our response about "what is the definition of core banking software?" or "what are functions in core banking application software?" has been in our FAQ Answers since early 2007 | we are aware the definition changes over time | it is our best effort as of that time - see "Core banking system Definition"
