November 30, 2008 23:59: The November 2008 core banking vendor iRanking results left Finacle by Infosys at No.1 just ahead of Temenos (based on T24) and Oracle i-Flex (Flexcube) | other vendors with positive indicators were Neptune Software (Equinox, Rubikon), Datapro (e-IBS), Pexim (PUB 2000), and SAB (SAB2i, Samic) - all moved up significantly in the rankings.
November 29, 2008 13:41: ERI Bancaire Olympic is currently highlighted in the Private Banking System Product Quickview Guide page for software products that fit the category of private banking systems from within our larger set of core banking listings and resources . Likewise, Path Solutions iMAL system is in the spotlight and featured on the Islamic Banking System Product Guide.
November 25, 2008 19:01: Noted the NIKoil IBG Bank from Moscow looked for core banking software online today, and we hope they find what they need with our help and resources. They now join the over 2,100 BFSI 'parties of interest' tagged and tracked daily, and whose 10,300+ visits with banking systems interest are recorded in the inntron intelligence database so far.
November 24, 2008 15:58: On deck for new 'vendor of interest' listings are Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates (SHMA) with the BankEssential web-based banking solution from Pakistan, and HCL Infosystem from India and the HCL CBS solution (coming soon).
November 20, 2008 17:21: There is increased interest from and about Russia and CIS, and now one more relevant 'vendor of interest' listing has been added to the core banking resource pages for FORS Banking Systems | FORS-BS and the Va-Bank banking automation software.
November 19, 2008 11:50: In no particular order, recently we recorded a spike in inquires from various consultants and systems integrators from Bangladesh, and also lookups by Bangladesh banks like Pubali bank (online banking systems) Janata Bank (core banking systems), ICB Islamic Bank (core banking software islamic banking), United Commercial Bank (core banking malaysia), AB Bank (Islamic core banking).

November 14, 2008 12:50: An overdue 'vendor of interest' listing posted in the core banking resource pages for Russian vendor R-Style Softlab and the popular RS-Bank software.
November 13, 2008 13:33: Two new 'vendor of interest' listings added in the core banking resource pages for Indian group Theme Technologies and their ThemePro suite | plus KalSoft from Pakistan with the Vortex core banking software.
November 10, 2008 10:08: In a cost cutting measure, Temenos is trimming staff numbers. They plan to "remove excess costs that have accumulated". Expect these cuts will affect staff in recently acquired businesses such as Financial Objects of the UK and Informer Greece.
November 6, 2008 20:08: Much inquiry traffic yesterday and today looking for the answer to which institution was the "first client of Finacle". Is there a competition where the answer wins a prize?
November 4, 2008 09:01: In a recent communique, Delta Informatique pointed out that, among other successes, Delta Bank has recently replaced TEMENOS T24 in the European and African subsidiaries of the leading Moroccan bank Attijariwafa Bank.
November 3, 2008 14:43: Finacle versus Flexcube is a comparison requested today from downunder. Not for the first time by a long shot. Finacle only deploys on Oracle DBMS currently, and Flexcube is owned by Oracle. Oracle wins.
November 1, 2008 15:54: Traffic about "DBS and core banking system Finacle" continues. It is a long time since Infosys was announced as the core banking systems vendor for DBS Singapore (2005). Finacle has been rolled-out for DBS businesses in India, Indonesia, China and HK, but Singapore is still to go. Competitors like to talk loudly about problems there.
November 1, 2008 09:49: The core banking vendor iRankings in October 2008 indicate strong activity around Infosys Finacle to stay at number 1 | Francophile solutions from SAB/Samic seem popular, and SAB hit the top 20 for the first time (at 19) and, in the Americas, Datapro IBS continue on the rise.
October 31, 2008 15:46: Three different Ukraine banks inquired on "core banking systems" and "core banking vendors" search terms this week and showed most early interest in TCS BaNCS and Misys - then one Ukrainian inquirer checked out Oracle i-flex today.
October 30, 2008 13:50: Two leading Canadian banks have today inquired separately about the Datapro e-IBS core banking suite. Assume there is some promotion going on in the north, along with increased interest generally out of the Latin America.
October 27, 2008 09:43: Over the weekend there were recurring lookups for core banking system vendors that originated from Tripoli in Libya based on a search for the keywords "Islamic banking system" (noticed because it is not a common source of inquiries). The visitor landed on the Islamic Core Banking product guide page, and spent time. They were also checking out the iRanking and showed interest in Temenos in particular.
October 26, 2008 09:27: We appreciate the growing number of senior, well-credentialed, and appropriately-experienced and certified core banking systems consultants making themselves known to inntron. We are still trying to work out the best way to help institutions not just find straight forward information about systems and vendors, but also identify relevant professional services / resource / skills available that we know globally and that match their inquiries as well (for now, we can only offer offline matching to inquiries).
October 24, 2008 23:33: In a significant collaboration for a market that is used to this option, we note that CSC has recently begun offering managed and hosted deployment of the Oracle Flexcube core banking software solutions for mid-tier retail and commercial banks in North America.
October 22, 2008 15:16: Vendor updates posted today for 'vendor of interest' listings in the core banking resource pages for International Computer Systems (ICS) and their ICS BANKS system available from offices in the UK and Jordan - effectively a new write-up - plus there were changes and refinements to the content of the PROFILE Systems & Software page.
October 20, 2008 08:48: Since there is interest being shown in inquiries.. indications so far this month point to Infosys Finacle staying on top at number one in the core banking vendor iRankings | We note that there is increased weekend visitor traffic, particularly from new visitors, that comes in on search terms like "islamic core banking systems" and lands on the Islamic Banking System Product Quickview Guide as their entry page.
October 16, 2008 16:54: The latest 'vendor of interest' listing posted to the core banking resource pages is for FPT-IS from Vietnam and the Smartbank package that has users around Indochina in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
October 15, 2008 14:00: Oracle Financial Services Software Limited is the name of the 'vendor of interest' formerly known as i-flex Solutions Limited. A long name, and we note it is already being shortened in published vendor references to just Oracle, Oracle FSS, and OFSS. The core banking system product, Flexcube, is also being referred to simply as the Oracle core banking solution. (inntron is waiting to see how the identity settles)
October 13, 2008 23:59: Cannot help but notice the multiple references to the inntron core banking system resource pages showing up in discussions on the new LinkedIn group pages | ref. the Banking Solution Specialists Group (click and link) | While everyone is not convinced of the merits of "owned" groups or "corporate branded" member networks, we just hope our presence and content adds to the banking technology domain overall, and any dialogue they foster.
October 9, 2008 09:26: Another 'vendor of interest' listing added to the core banking resource pages for DataVision from India and their Data Mate core banking and Micro Mate microfinance / cooperative banking systems.
October 8, 2008 21:01: Another sign of the times - there are more inquiries from European banks today leading to our consulting alliance partner product CorrRisk and recorded off search terms like "operational risk correspondent" and "trade risk monitoring banking" as well as "country exposure management software".
October 7, 2008 23:00: Whilst we understood ANZ NZ had selected Systematics to replace the legacy Hogan core banking systems, interest continues in both Finacle by Infosys (according to online inquiries we see) and Systematics from Fidelity in parts of ANZ New Zealand operations. As recorded earlier, ANZ has started using the Finacle core banking system in the Laos and Indonesian operations, and planned to continue with that approach for Asia at least.
October 6, 2008 21:18: Today there has been a flurry of activity from multiple Fortis and PNB Paribas parties each inquiring about the other's systems (with SAB core banking mentioned several times).
October 4, 2008 20:37: New 'vendor of interest' listings added to the core banking resource pages introduce PROFILE from Greece with SPECTRUM, SoftClub of Belarus with SC-BANK NT, and CMC from India with TC/4.

The breakdown is based on increasing inquiries and visitor numbers overall (see table on the right) and reflects a shift because, as the numbers grow, there are more Consultants and SI's and Banks in the mix, and the number of Vendors has virtually peaked (though Vendor usage and visit traffic increases all the time). It is very satisfying to record growing and regular interest, and use of, our resources by Visitors from all over the globe. |
