Overview:
PT Sigma Cipta Caraka (SIGMA) is an Indonesian-based company employing more than 700 professional staff. SIGMA was established in 1987 by a number of professionals in banking and information technology. It was then one of the two Business Partners chosen by IBM to sell hardware to the local banks. It also obtained the license to sell the software of Midas Banking Center in England. In 1989, when most larger local banks used imported software to support their daily operations, SIGMA developed a core-banking software named AlphaBITS. This software accommodated the local Indonesian requirements and was sold widely to mid-size banks.
SIGMA offers comprehensive technology services consisting of software products, software development services and data center operation in the financial, telecommunications, manufacturing and distribution industries. SIGMA solutions are implemented by more than 70 banking institutions in Indonesia and scores of financial institutions.

Alpha BITS is a core banking system for day-to-day operation which connects the links in thechain of related banking activities. The system covers broad aspects such as the delivery channels for teller and customer service, and back office functions like accounting and general affairs. Developed as an industry-standard banking application, Alpha BITS offers integrated functionality with six main modules: kernel and security, CIF, retail, deposit, loan, and general ledger. The system provides seamless point-to-point transitions for example from table parameter and customer information recording upon account opening to loan management and balance sheet processing for executive decision-making. As it runs on a centralized network, Alpha BITS supports online inter-branch connection. It requires a minimum effort to install, requiring simple PCs or dumb terminals with a modem-router connected to a central server in a designated location such as head office. The design architecture of Alpha BITS helps it interface and integrate with third party applications.
