Overview:
FPT Information System (FPT-IS) is part of the FPT group (The Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology) established in 1988. FPT-IS is a leading systems integrator in Vietnam.
Early on FPT developed a banking software package called SIBA. SIBA was used by several domestic and foreign banks including Chinfon Bank, Maybank, and ICBC bank. Some components of SIBA, such as statutory central bank reports, were also provided to foreign banks in Vietnam including ANZ, CitiBank, Hongkong and Shanghai Bank.
Over the years FPT-IS has partnered with and supported leading banking system vendors like Silverlake, i-flex, Temenos and 3i Infotech around implementations.

Smartbank core banking system was built by FPT-IS starting in 1999 on a modern architecture base, with stable and advanced technology. Compliance with international standards is maintained, while Smartbank is continually developed and enhanced. The system aims to deliver the full range of functionality needed to meet the demands of commercial banks. The application of SmartBank manages the operations and functions of modern banks with features such as centralized and online processing, flexibility, high parameterization, advanced security, user-friendly interface, - allowing multi-currency processing, deposits and withdrawals in various locations, and easy connection with external systems and service channels.
SmartBank has been implemented in 19 domestic and foreign banks.
