Overview:
Crystal Clear Software Ltd develops, markets, sells, implements and supports Loan Performer micro-finance software. Loan Performer is being used by Rural
Banks, Village Banks, Savings and Credit Cooperatives, Credit Unions, Projects etc. with up to 100,000 clients/members.
Crystal Clear Software Ltd is a company registered in 1998 in Uganda. It has
one branch office in Costa Rica and employs a staff of about 20 persons. The
company has recently been selected as one of the Top 100 Mid-sized Companies
in Uganda by KPMG (Oct 2009). Two out of the 20 winners of the CGAP (World
Bank) Financial Transparency Award 2007 for micro-finance institutions use
Loan Performer: Findev and Viator, both in Azerbadijan. Findev is using Loan
Performer for 7 years while Viator uses Loan Performer for 6 years (as of
March 2007). In 2005 Crystal Clear Software Ltd was winner of the AFRICAN
SMME AWARDS in the Information and Communication Technology sector, Issued
by the Centre for Investment Analysis (ACIA) of the University of
Stellenbosch Business School in Capetown, South Africa. In 2003 the company
received Silver in the 5th President’s Export Awards for being the Number 1
Exporter in the category of ICT Exports in Uganda and in 2003 the company
was awarded Investor of the year for the “Best Software Development for the
year 2002-2003” from Uganda Investment Authority.

Product: Loan Performer MIS software for microfinance institutions
Loan Performer licenses by license type. 45% of the license sales are 5-user LAN licenses with a Foxpro database, 40% are single user licenses and 9% are 20-user Loan Performer licenses for an SQL Server
database.
Loan Performer has modules for entry of clients, shares, deposits,
term-deposits, loans, accounting, assets and debtors/creditors. All modules are tightly integrated and a deposit/withdrawal or loan
disbursement/repayment automatically updates the general ledger. It handles front-office as well as back-office transactions. Receipts can be printed in a variety of formats. Savings and Loans for groups can be tracked either only at group level or both at group and member level. Transactions can be keyed in or imported from external files/resources. The software comes with some 200 integrated reports that can be printed in a variety of formats.
Loan Performer comes standard in 4 languages (English, French, Spanish and Russian) and support is also given in the same languages. Other, externally supported languages are Arabic and Portuguese.

As at end of June 2009: 249 clients in 50
different countries using Loan Performer.
An increase of 22% compared to the
previous year. The largest growth
was in Anglophone West-Africa and in Francophone Africa.
